Dr. Lauren Schroeder - YSU Professor Emeritus

On March 16th, it is a distinct pleasure to have Dr. Lauren Schroeder with us to present a seminar.  Dr. Schroeder is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Biological Sciences who continues to actively pursue his research interests after his retirement.  Dr. Schroeder can often be seen traversing through the department chatting with current faculty and is a very special gentleman and a gentle man.  Welcome Back, Lauren!  We are looking forward to your presentation!

Dr. Fayez Safadi - Special Seminar Speaker

We have a very special guest speaker this week in our seminar - Dr. Fayez Safadi.  Dr. Safadi is Professor of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.  One aspect of his research program focuses on the regulation of bone cell development and function, with specific emphasis on growth factors that can enhance osteogenesis.  Another research interest of Dr. Safadi is the role of osteoactivin as a neuroprotective factor for neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer disease.
